Anti-Heroes

These are characters that can be somewhat seen as good guys and as bad ones. They tend to lack any valor or honour that typical good guys have. Generally if you want to start up an anti-hero you have to start off opposing a heroic hero. Just to mention now before going any further, the Hero that you're opposing, /is not/ your actual main enemy, if he's even an enemy at all. You should remember that the Villain is.

You should never lose sight of this. Your reason for opposing this hero can be for many reasons. Such as having a vendetta against the villain, so wanting to take him down rather than see him imprisoned by the hero. Or maybe the hero thinks your character is evil mistakenly, and your character see's no reason to correct him purely out of not caring.

When roleplaying an antihero, you are essentially roleplaying 'chaotic goodness'. You go your own way and you are your own person. However, you share the same overall goal as a hero, which is this villain or villainous act being overthrown. Sure though, feel free to use the hero to progress in your own goals. Heroes generally are gullible sods that with some scheming and manipulating at convenient times you can get to do your dirty work or draw out the villain.
